Duplex 2507, is a commonly used super duplex stainless steel.
Also sold as Alloy 2507, this alloy is used in situations where exceptional strength and corrosion resistance are in demand.
The reason Duplex 2507 is utilized is due to its unique properties.
On top of its basic corrosion resistance and strength, Duplex 2507 also provides:
Extreme resistance to uniform corrosion
Good resistance to inorganic acids/chlorides
Works with dilute hydrochloric acid
Improved machinability and weldability
High impact strength
To be considered Duplex 2507, an alloy it must contain a number of different chemical components including:
Grade | C | Si | Mn | P≤ | S≤ | Cr | Mo | Ni | Other |
2507 | ≤0.030 | ≤1.00 | ≤2.00 | 0.035 | 0.015 | 24-26 | 3.0-4.5 | 6.0-8.0 | – |
Mechanical Properties
Grade | YS(Mpa) ≥ | TS (Mpa) ≥ | El (%) ≥ | Hardness(HV) ≤ |
2507 | 530 | 730 | 20 | 310 |
Some of the applications and industries that utilize Duplex 2507 include:
Chemical process industries
