The 3105 grade aluminum is essentially 98% pure premium aluminum alloy with some minor additions for strength. It is not hardenable by heat treatment. Its corrosion resistance, formability and welding characteristics are excellent.
This aluminum metal has excellent properties for both forming and welding, but does not respond to heat treatment. The 3000 series aluminum metals are 20% stronger than the 1000 series metals.

Mg, Mn and Si are added to 3105 aluminum sheet, thus, it has excellent correction resistance, formability and welding characteristics.
Besides, it has average mechinability and it can be increased in harder tempers than in annealed condition.
The forming characteristics of 3105 aluminum coil are pretty good by all conventional processes regardless of temper. But 3105 aluminum coil does not respond to heat treatment except for annealing during cold working.
The cold working characteristics are very good, even in the harder cold working tempers.
